Bra Care and Wear Tips

Hand wash all bras with an under wire or a molded cup. It may seem to take more time but you will get much more life out of your hand washed bra, at least a year as opposed to 3-6 months. This will save you money and cut down how often you will need to go bra shopping.

Machine washing your bra will cause the wires to break, twist and warp. The molded bras will get wrinkly and bumpy. Which will show up under t-shirts and light fabrics. Use a gentle fabric wash, soak for 10 to 15 minutes. Gently scrub any trouble areas. Rinse thoroughly. For molded or padded cup bras, wrap it in a towel to get excess water out. Avoid wringing out your bra.

Hang to dry as the heat from the dryer will dry out elastic and melt fabric. Hang your bra by either front or back as hanging it by one strap will warp the front of the cups.

It is best to have 5-7 bras to rotate so you can wear a different one each day and frequently wash them.

When purchasing a bra it should fit snuggly on the loosest settings so that there are two sets of hooks to adjust to as the fabric stretches.

When putting on your bra avoid hooking it up in the front and twisting it around your body. That puts unnecessary pressure on the fabric and under wires, causing both the break or break down prematurely.
Instead hook it up at the back, at waist level, pull the cups up and into position. Then put on the straps. You may need to lift the breast tissue, settle the under wire at the crease between your breast and chest wall. Then settle your breast into the cups.
